Restaurant Manager and Front of House

Our young front of house team is headed by Restaurant Manager, Harry Ross (left of picture) who trained locally at the North Devon College in hospitality management and who has previously worked in some notable local establishments such as the High Bullen Hotel and Grove Inn at Kings Nympton. With Harry in the photograph are two of the front of house team, Thadeus Wynne-Evans and, bringing a touch of glamour to the Restaurant, Sona Streather.
Chefs
James’s sous chef is Jess Clements. Jess joined James to open the Restaurant in August 2008 from the 4 star Charlton House Hotel where she was a chef de partie in the kitchen of the hotel’s 2 AA rosette restaurant. Jess too trained at the local North Devon College.
Supporting James and Jess in the kitchen is Mike Stern (second right). Mike has joined James straight from the North Devon College where he was one of the College’s team which beat off stiff competition from Blackpool & the Fylde College, Sussex Downs College, Belfast Metropolitan College and City of Bristol College to win the coveted Nestlé Toque d'Or at the 2009 finals held at the NEC Birmingham.
