Restaurant Manager and Front of House
Our young front of house team is headed by Restaurant Manager, Ellie Webb returning to her native North Devon after 18 months working in New Zealand.

Chefs
James’s sous chef is
JessClements. Jess joined James to open the Restaurant in August 2008 from the 4 star Charlton House Hotel where she was a chef de partie in the kitchen of the hotel’s 2 AA rosette restaurant. Jess grew up in North Devon and trained at the East Devon College (now the Tiverton campus of Petroc).
Joining James and Jess in the kitchen is Matt Rutter (left) who has moved to North Devon from his native Derbyshire. Matt trained initially at the Burton on Trent Technical College in Staffordshire and commenced his exposure to fine dining in the kitchen of Grayson's restaurant in Quorn, Leicestershire.
Along with David and Andy Thomas, our two part time kitchen porters ,this is the kitchen team dedicated to delighting your taste buds.
