Mothers’ Day Lunch, Sunday 14th March 2010
We’re opening the Restaurant on this special family Sunday so you can give Mum a break from preparing the family lunch and treat to her and your family to a lunch with James that is sure to make the Day memorable. James’s three course lunch menu is complete with appetizers on arrival and coffee and petit fours to finish and so you may toast the guest of honour on her special Day, we’re repeating our Valentine’s weekend champagne offer, by the bottle, half bottle or by the glass. Easter Sunday Lunch, 4th April 2010
Easter Sunday is another traditional family day and one when we are all eagerly looking forward to spring and summer. So, we’re once again opening the Restaurant especially so you may lunch with us. Maybe some early spring sunshine will even enable you to take a pre-lunch drink outside on the Strand before taking your table in the main restaurant or in the upstairs dining room. We’ll post our menu on the site nearer the time but it will be similar to our mothers’ Day lunch menu so, there’s no reason not to reserve your table with us now.
Christmas 2010 and New Year Pre Christmas parties and festivities
December is a time for getting together with family, friends and colleagues and where better than with James Duckett at the Old Custom House? And it's never too early to start making plans. So, if you're thinking of Christmas and New Year's Eve 2010 you may view our 2009 seasonal menus here. We'll be doing something very similar this year so, if you wish to get ahead and make some early reservations you may do so with confidence.
Throughout December 2009 our party lunch, à la carte dinner and party dinner menus all had a distinctive seasonal touch to them to make sure the occasion would be special. So, whether for lunch or dinner; for a short get together; for a special night out; or for an organised ‘end of term’ lunch or dinner party with friends and colleagues from your workplace; we were able to make it an occasion to remember?

Christmas Day lunch
The warm surroundings of the Restaurant make it an ideal venue for a celebratory family lunch. Choose the relaxed bistro style downstairs restaurant or the more sophisticated surroundings of the upstairs panelled dining room. And James’s Christmas Day 2009 menu proved a great success. From festive canapés on arrival through his traditional five course dinner and ending with Christmas cake and mince pies, all his food is homemade on the premises from the finest local fare. New Year’s Eve dinner
Once again the warm atmosphere of the Restaurant makes it a special place in which to celebrate the arrival of 2011 and your hopes and aspirations for the New Year. Fine wine, another splendid five course dinner from James (similar to last year's menu) and the best seats in the Town for the annual midnight Barnstaple firework display all make this the Place to be for New Year’s Eve 2010.
